Welcome to Sloodle!

Sloodle is an Open Source project which aims to develop and share useful, usable, desireable tools for supporting education in virtual worlds, making teaching easier. Through engagement with an active community of developers and users, the Sloodle project hopes to develop sound pedagogies for teaching across web-based and 3D virtual learning environments. Sloodle integrates the Second Life® multi-user virtual environment and the Moodle learning-management system.

You can find more details on the project and technical information on the development status on the Sloodle Wiki, while the source code is available on Google Code, along with the issues tracker.

You can also visit the Sloodle project in Second Life (currently also in the process of re-modelling!), here:

'SloodleMoot' took place on the 18th and 19th of January. More details and notes here!

You can find guidance on this inworld and on the wiki - and in this great set of Slootorial videos from Chris Surridge. More detailed documentation for Sloodle administrators can be found in the SloodleDocs.

If you run into problems, you can ask for help in world or on the forums.

What experts are saying

"One of the things that I’m most excited about is a mashup between Second Life and the learning management system, Moodle. Its called Sloodle." - Joe Miller, VP Platform, Linden Lab

"Go to sloodle.com, this chocolate and peanut butter combination... compelling 3-D experiences, and then a really solid, open, free system." Steve Wexler, eLearning Guild.

"This sounds a brilliant idea to me. Instead of limiting yourself and your students to whiteboards, images and text, you can now offer fully interactive 3D objects, and let students build their own." Mark Wallace, 3PointD.com.
